I live in London.

I have lived in foreign countries and travelled in more. My longest travel was a year. I have no idea what my shortest travel sojourn was, and why would I; it doesn't suit the narrative.

I am married and have been for 28 years.

According to someone I know, whom I asked recently, I am guarded.

Other people say I am likely to say deep things that are different from that which others might say.

I grew up thinking it was important to present a self that appeared to know whatever it was that was important to know. It still bugs me.

Some Things I Think About

Like many new things in this modern world, the barriers to starting a new thing are so low that they can outstrip the thinking process that decides the ultimate question - Why do this at all?

A person may not give much thought to it at all, and is likely to do things because someone pointed them at it, and they followed.

Not for nothing does marketing spend millions on drumming into people's heads that they want whatever the advertiser is selling.

When the barriers are low and the push from behind is great then the risk is that the things a person does are not really theirs - they are not really answers to their desires. Rather, they are the path of least resistance.

Then people are the products of other people's desires.

Once the person has started, the biggest resistance to continuing is that the person runs out of enthusiasm, but then if another door doesn't open then a person might just switch the lights off and continue.

Imaging if 'success' meant success for everyone. I don't mean a situation where a personn wants the success of others only because they are a springboard to that person's success but because they see the success of everyone is the only definition of success.

Meanwhile, we get what we deserve.

I imagine the impossible - a shared space that does not belong to anyone - a space within which we can all interact - a hologram that doesn’t really exist except by the input from the actors in the space.

It is a place to build a castle in the air. And intuit that it is a place to find that there is a castle there. It is something that we can only experience when we have built it.
